If you are a witch or wizard trapped in the world of muggles, smart card operator iPASS might just be able to bring a little magic to your daily commute. The company is soon to launch a series of contactless smart cards in the shape of magic wands straight from the Harry Potter universe. Touch the tip of the wand on the MRT turnstile and it will light up as the gate opens for you. The design has caused quite a splash online. Let’s take a look.

Do you want to feel the magic of the Harry Potter world? Take out your wand, tap it on the MRT gate and say the spell: “Alohomora.” The doors open up for you to let you in and out at will.

My daughters would love to take the wands everywhere and wave them around. And it’s an iPASS card, so it’s not just used to ride the MRT. They can also play with them at school. Last year we went to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, we each brought a wand back. I would’ve never thought we’d eventually be able to get wands to use on the MRT. It’s so cool.

Besides creating licensed products from movies, we’re also obtaining licenses in other areas such as from bubble tea shops, railways, light rail and anime series. We’re actively trying to explore new elements, in hopes of satisfying the needs of all kinds of fans.

Besides the magic wands, iPASS has collaborated with a drink chain to make a smart pass in the shape of a cup of boba. The plastic cup is filled with milk tea, tapioca pearls and ice cubes, and its realistic appearance has also been a hit online. The bubble tea iPASS has flown off the shelves at shops, and is only available in Kaohsiung and Pingtung.
